Copyright & License
Forest and Society is a fully open access journal dedicated to the free and unrestricted dissemination of knowledge. All articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0), in full alignment with the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI).
Upon publication, every article is immediately and permanently free for anyone worldwide to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, link to, or use for any lawful purpose without requiring prior permission from the publisher or the authors.
Authors retain the copyright to their scholarly work. By submitting a manuscript, authors grant Forest and Society an exclusive license to publish, reproduce, and distribute the article and to authorize others (e.g., academic databases and repositories) to do the same under the CC BY 4.0 license.
This license grants all users broad rights to share (copy and redistribute) and adapt (remix, transform, and build upon) the material for any purpose, including commercial use. The sole requirement is that users provide appropriate attribution. This entails crediting the original author(s) and source (Forest and Society), providing a link to the CC BY 4.0 license, and indicating if any modifications were made.
Authors are warmly encouraged to share and self-archive the final published version of their work in institutional repositories, on personal websites, and for educational use, provided that proper attribution to the original publication in Forest and Society is included.
